79Bike Falcon Pro L1e-B vs Sur-Ron Ultra Bee: an honest comparison (2026)

Falcon Pro L1e-B or Sur-Ron Ultra Bee? Two philosophies: a 59 kg lightweight with an off-road mode versus a heavier, more powerful machine. Battery, weight, approval, price, service.

Two bikes, two weight classes

The Sur-Ron Ultra Bee is the Light Bee's big sister: bigger, heavier, more powerful. The 79Bike Falcon Pro plays in the lightweight class. Both exist as road-legal mopeds (L1e) limited to 45 km/h on the road. Comparing them is useful, as long as we stay honest: they are not the same size of bike.

Competitor data from a Sur-Ron dealer listing (November 2026), subject to change. The off-road Ultra Bee, which is not road-legal, claims more power.

Battery and range: Ultra Bee wins

Let's be clear: with about 4.4 kWh against 2.5 kWh, the Ultra Bee carries much more energy. For long rides without charging, that's a real advantage. The Falcon Pro partly compensates with its weight (almost 30 kg less), which lowers consumption, but it doesn't close a capacity gap of that size.

Weight and handling: Falcon Pro wins

59 kg versus almost 90 kg is the difference you feel most every day: pushing the bike, picking it up after a fall, threading it through tight singletrack, loading it into a van. For a 14–16-year-old or a lighter rider, it's often the deciding factor.

Road + trail: how it works

The Falcon Pro L1e-B is one bike with two modes: the approved road mode (45 km/h, 4 kW) and an off-road mode (10 kW peak) for private land only. Derestricting on public roads voids the approval and is illegal. For the Ultra Bee, the L1e and off-road versions are separate variants: ask the dealer what the version you buy allows.

Price, warranty and service

The Falcon Pro L1e-B is listed at today's price on its product page, with a 2-year warranty (battery 1 year), a workshop in Toulouse Sud, test rides in Sant Cugat (Barcelona) and genuine parts in stock. The Ultra Bee L1e is around €6,690 at dealers; service depends on the dealer network. We also service Sur-Ron bikes: Sur-Ron parts.

Verdict

  • You want the biggest range and accept the weight and budget → Ultra Bee.
  • You want a light, road-legal bike with a real off-road mode for private land, on a controlled budget → Falcon Pro L1e-B.
  • Somewhere in between → look at the Lynx L1e-B (12 kW, 40 Ah battery, 66 kg).
