Customer guide – Registering your electric motorcycle

Electric motorcycles homologated for road use in France

Thank you for your trust and your purchase from Ride On Distribution.

To make registering your electric motorcycle easier, we set out the different steps, the documents required and each party's responsibilities.

1Preparation of your file by Ride On Distribution

When your motorcycle is received, Ride On Distribution initiates the administrative steps needed to obtain the quitus fiscal (tax clearance certificate), when it is required.

Indicative timeframe: 14 days from receipt of your motorcycle.

This timeframe may vary depending on how the tax authorities process the file and on the availability of supporting documents.

Once the documents have been obtained, we send them to you so that you can proceed with your registration.

2Documents provided by Ride On Distribution

Depending on the origin and administrative status of your motorcycle, we provide the following applicable documents:

  • Purchase invoice : showing the seller's and buyer's details, the vehicle model and its VIN serial number.
  • European Certificate of Conformity (COC) : certifying the motorcycle's European type-approval.
  • Quitus fiscal : document proving the vehicle's tax status with regard to VAT, when required.
  • Other administrative documents : when they are required for your registration file.

3Documents to be prepared by the customer

To submit your application, you must have the following documents:

  • Valid proof of identity
  • Proof of address less than 6 months old
  • Purchase invoice for your motorcycle
  • European Certificate of Conformity (COC)
  • Quitus fiscal, if applicable
  • Driving licence matching the vehicle category
  • Proof of insurance, when requested
  • Registration application form, depending on the procedure followed
  • Any additional documents requested by the ANTS

If the procedure is carried out by an authorised professional, a registration mandate may also be required.

4Submitting your registration application

Once Ride On Distribution has sent you the documents, you must submit your registration application.

  1. Step 1

Log in to France Titres (ANTS), for example with FranceConnect.

  2. Step 2

Select the registration procedure matching your new motorcycle and its origin.

  3. Step 3

Fill in the requested information about your identity and your vehicle.

  4. Step 4

Submit the supporting documents requested by the administration.

  5. Step 5

    Pay any registration fees.

  6. Step 6

Track the progress of your file in your personal account until the registration certificate is issued.

You can then have your regulation number plate made.

5Timeframes and responsibilities

Ride On Distribution undertakes to:

  • Providing their personal supporting documents.
